Second Step is a program rooted in social-emotional learning (SEL) that helps transform schools into supportive, successful learning environments uniquely equipped to encourage children to thrive. More than just a classroom curriculum, Second Step’s holistic approach helps create a more empathetic society by providing education professionals, families, and the larger community with tools to enable them to take an active role in the social-emotional growth and safety of today’s children.

Teen Intervene
Teen Intervene is designed as a brief intervention for youth ages 12-19 years old suspected of experiencing mild or moderate problems associated with alcohol or other drug use. An optional session may include a parent/guardian. A referral for treatment may be made if deemed appropriate.
(2-3 sessions of 1 ½ hour each, ages 12-19)
The Mendez TGFD (Too Good For Drugs) Program
TGFD teaches core social and emotional learning skills such as Goal Setting, Decision Making, Identifying and Managing Emotions, Effective Communication, and Bonding and Relationships which are paired with current drug information. Students have opportunities to practice skills through games and skits to build protective strategies to resist negative peer influence.

The Botvin Life Skills Program
The Botvin Life Skills Program is an evidence-based program for youth and young adults that improves core areas of decision-making, self-esteem, healthy relationships, communication & social skills, bully & violence prevention, conflict resolution skills, and coping with strong emotions & peer pressure.
(8 sessions for grades 3-6;
a minimum of 10 sessions grades 7-12)
An Apple A Day
Addresses topics such as self-esteem, safe people, safe places, friends and healthy choices.
(6 sessions for grades 1-5)
Sport
SPORT is a motivational presentation for youth K-12 that targets positive choices to increase healthy habits and avoid substance abuse behaviors. The focus is on encouraging physical activity and community involvement.
